So, how many conservatives

So conservatives don't want to give these bailouts, they have to because of Obama... that's genius...

Talk about putting words in a person's mouth.  You're better than that.  It's pretty clear I said Trump's governmental response to the virus is responsible for the downfall of many businesses.

Let me rephrase, trickle down economics has been a complete failure on the nation-wide level every single time it has been implemented in the last 40 years. I'm am not the least bit surprised it has worked out for some individuals.

What works better?  Govt jobs?

It's a great concept and as a Reaganite, I truly believed it.  But what we forgot to factor in was GREED.  So, as usual, it didn't transfer to those who need it most.  Hopefully, we learn.

Trickle down never was imagined to ensure everyone equal success or outcome.

How are you judging failure?

If I were arguing with a conservative on this matter who made the point that since we bailed them out once, we now have to again. I'd say, its sort of like giving a who bunch of people health care and then deciding you're going to take it away from them.

What works better than unchecked capitalism? Pretty much everything that isn't feudalism.

Well, I guess this is why we have the Mad Cow.

Let me state it another way for you.  I don't believe in govt bailouts.  I don't care that we did it before, although we did it.  I also stated I don't have a position on this time around.

Forget I referenced an occurrence from the Obama era.  It wasn't meant to rile you up.

The gap between the rich and poor.  It should never entirely close, but I expect my government, through its policymaking, to maintain the opportunity for social mobility in an equitable manner and to also provide an appropriate amount of stability in the economy.  This intervention gives cramps to purists.  But without a realistic hope that Joe Lunchpail's kids, with hard work, can have a better life and without the stability for folks to plan for the future, the government will be supporting everyone who is not in the top economic bracket.

The economy was humming along just fine, by most measures, before this and will again.  But I don't know that I would call the current administration's policy Trickle Down.
