I feel for you.

I've worked for some great companies that have greatly helped their associates, customers and communities.  I have been fortunate not to be a part of a horrible organization.

I have seen regulation actually incent bad behavior, so I'm not a more regulation fan.  Especially, like now, where I am in a business regulated by those politicians acting on behalf of their benefactors, not their community.  Or, in other cases, like some recent regulation from New York, acting without fully understanding the business.  Unintended consequences are worse than the gnat they're swatting at.

Liberals could  solve most of the problems in society if conservatives would get the hell out of the way

What is stopping them? Oh you don’t want to solve it unless everyone contributes equally to your ideas despite the fact they may not support them, well because of that you have apparently made it where you need conservatives, independents and more people than desire to create a nanny state.

I tend to be conservative on most issues and don't believe in taking away anyone's First Amendment Rights. Totally socialism will never work, but neither will pure capitalism. I mean in the US we have a lot of social services that people don't consider socialistic but it is. I am taking my check and paying off my car. I am sure they will get it back in the form of tax increases over the next few years to recover from the virus no matter who wins the 2020 election. The real issue is that the saying is have enough cash to live off and pay your bills for 3-6 months, but  many major corporations cant seem to do the same. In the end, no matter which political party or candidate you support we are all Americans and we will get through this. When the government hands out  things, it will always come back to collect it in a form of tax at some point.

I don’t think anybody is demonizing the NIH or NASA here, unless I’m misreading you 😉

It does pose a dilemma for me personally. I own stock and I sure as hell hope somebody is looking for maximum value, but at the same time, I realize that it comes at a cost. All I’m suggesting is more balance and regulation.

I'm also invested in the market so I'm certainly not anti-corporation ,I just want them to pay a higher rate on taxes a  more fair rate .

But people are perfectly free to be the change they want to see in the world and make it as compassionate as possible and they don’t need to stand around like the person trying to avoid a fight by standing behind other people yelling hold me back. https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/celebrity/celebrities-who-have-donated-money-amid-the-coronavirus-pandemic/ss-BB11mFlX?li=BBnbfcL#image=1. If anyone is stopped from making the world more compassionate because of conservatism it isn’t because they are actually interested in making change in the world it is because they want to force others to have the same compassions as they do.

Last I looked, I don't qualify.

Secondly, handing out checks as stimulus is a bad idea.  But it is the expectation.  The march to a nanny state continues.

I guess if I got one, I'd give it to my kids who are trying to get through the bloated, overpriced, indoctrinating US colleges.

no check for me but our firm may be able to get one of those no pay back loans

Interesting.  Would seem to be taking money better deployed to the "middle class" working demographic, small businesses that need to pay those that would qualify for the relief checks and don't have the wealth to last out the stay at home order.
