The one that should be complaining the most is Kelvin Sampson

Why? Their averaged announced attendance is 6,838 per game. Their areas seats 7,035. That's 97% of seats sold.

Wasn’t aware of their arena size. Just figured they’d expect to draw more with the quality of their current program and their solid history.

I've actually felt bitter towards usf bball as of late, in that I feel robbed by mismanagement and ineptitude of what should be a source of personal entertainment and a social campfire for friend group. how this program failed to capitalize on membership in greatest bball conference of all time during our tenure, specifically in bolstering fan support and recruiting, and seemingly now have nothing to show from this period aside from facilities, is frustrating and perplexing.

what midmajor teams accomplish year in and year out with comparable or lesser resources is astonishing compared to this disaster.

an aside, tourny run was senior yr and we threw memorable house parties during games that I have warm memories from, and following last season's CBI run in nyc sportsbars was a thrill ride. I want another hit of that good **** damnit! once you know what's possible, it's more difficult to shake off the losing trend with some self-depricating, ho-hum usf-ism.

go bolts

What makes this even worse is that of all these schools,  we have I think the second highest student enrollment.

USF students really only turn out in number for UCF, UCONN, Memphis and maybe Houston. When they do come to games the don't make noise throughout the game like most student sections. They just kinds sit there and wait for an exciting play to cheer for. I'm not including the pep band in this description of students because the pep band stands most of the game and does different chants during the game when they aren't playing their instruments.

Also USF doesn't do a good job of promoting basketball games to the students. So, students who aren't super into basketball don't know when there is one, or that they get in free, or that the first 100 to arrive get access to the Student Lounge with free pizza, free Coca-Cola products, TV monitors, pop-a-shot games etc.

Students at basketball games should only sit down during timeouts or halftime. The rest of the game they should be on their feet creating energy in the arena instead of waiting for something to cheer about.

Not sure what they do or don't do but my daughter's in her last year there and I'm constantly giving her **** about not going to the games and her most common reply is she didn't even know about it. The students should be so inundated about on campus games with all the ways they have to communicate that they'd be sick of hearing about them....but would definitely know about them.

Or maybe like normal kids that age they hear stuff they aren't into and think they never heard it.  It's possible.
