Can football make a quick turnaround?

Recommended Posts

I would take 6 or 7 wins to be a turnaround and a successful season.  But you can't fully measure a turnaround in the program by Ws and Ls.

A large part of Scott's cachet is this idea he can transform culture at USF Football similarly to how it was done at Clemson.  We've pretty much turned into losers since Leavitt was fired.  Can he rescue the program and sustain winning through culture and recruiting?  Who knows.  We all hope so.

If we can’t go at least 6-6 against a worse schedule than last year and with winning the games that could have been won by adequate coaching we have made a grave mistake that should cost every single person in athletics their jobs. CCS could have easily won 4 games this season too and CJS was brought in to do better than that, there is absolutely no excuse for not being able to manage 6-6 in the AAC and if our miracle making coach can’t manage that he is garbage and that people are actually trying to make excuses as to why he can’t preform what should be a pretty simple task is beyond alarming. No one is expecting him to go 12-0 in the SEC being 6-6 in the AAC when the guy that got fired managed to win 4 should be the bare minimum for keeping your job.

I think(hope) we will see an entirely different team this year. CJS will coach up the players we have to play at a higher level( or they will be gone). The additions to the team should provide talent and experience. Obviously, there must be some scholarships still available to hit up the portal??  Like ET86, a 6-6 record with a bowl gets USF back on track.

Do you think they look at this game any differently than any other game?  I do.  They will have their dudes ready.

Asked one of the new coaches that came from FAU if they thought familiarity would help or hurt us.  Said that WT would have a whole different system so not much help there.  Didn't address the other direction.

GUYS.

If Mickey Mouse College could go from 0-12 to 6-7 in Frost's first year, there's no reason we can't cross .500

This is spot on. We fired CCS because going 4-8 isn’t good enough. CJS was hired to do better and since our schedule is easier and we had opportunities that we blew getting to 6 wins shouldn’t be an unreasonable expectation. I personally think that he will do it but I find it concerning that some of his biggest fans seem to think it borders on the impossible.
