Yes, the old Sun Dome was an interesting concept.  It worked while it was here.  I kind of enjoyed the air blast as you walked in and out of the Dome.

While the Trop might be "structurally supported", it sure is an extremely outdated and ugly structure (although they are trying to put lipstick on a pig, the best they can).  It looks like a throwback from the 1970's - early years of domes.

I just spoke to someone (not naming my source) that works for the football program. He said that the president has signed the paperwork and they’re looking to break ground in June!

Would be interesting. I am still thinking we are sitting pretty right now for not rushing into this. we have money in the bank and no stadium loan. If we don’t play Texas and lose  1.5 million, we still might be in good shape. It would suck, don’t get me wrong, but we might not buckle too much. Ucf on the other hand looking bad right now.

With the way construction works, it would not be likely that they would break ground early. When this thread started in February there was talk about breaking ground in June. 

Most construction projects in Florida have either been unaffected or are pushing back slightly because of all this Covid-19 stuff.  

If I had to guess, based on this being a Public University with lots of eyeballs on the project, I doubt they break ground in June.
