Good pitching beats good hitting every day of the week - it’s simply harder to hit a baseball than to throw one.

That said, a top pitching staff with some timely hitting mixed in (think of the Rays or A’s) and the team can be pretty deadly.

The key is how good are the arms on this team and who can come up with some clutch base knocks with RISP.

It's not looking like we have a top pitching staff.

I think the pitching staff is going to pretty good, but I don't think good enough to carry lackluster bats like this

Guest Jonesy Bull

Mohl's last year!

We will have a losing season yet again with the offense getting worse year by year....certainly not better.

True to an extent, but this is college baseball and with the metal bats even the best pitching is going to get hit at times and we're not exactly seeing timely hitting even so far

That’s certainly true that in the college game even the best pitchers get knocked around from time to time due to the aluminum bats.

One other thing to keep in mind is that at the beginning of the year, pitchers are usually a few weeks ahead of the hitters as timing up a 90+mph fastball in a real game (not a scrimmage) takes a little bit of time.

So only time will tell if we see if the hitting progress throughout the year.

True, but I'd assume the other team's hitters are a few weeks behind the pitching as well
