UCF defensive coordinator Randy Shannon is the new highest paid assistant coach in among Group of Five assistant coaches, according to information obtained from the Orlando Sentinel.

On February 1st, Shannon’s annual compensation jumped from $300k annually to $1 million, according to an addendum to his contract that the Orlando Sentinel got ahold of. Shannon, who was in the mix for a few head coaching jobs again this off season, also got a one-time retention bonus of $300k on February 6th.
