Gonna have to disagree here. With infinitely ******** QB play last season, Wilcox still turned in his second best season. And even if he caught an extra 20 passes and 200 yards (2 and 20 per game), he'd still be going in the 7th round.

Plus, MW gave all kinds of praise to CKB's offense because it really prepares him for the next level ...

He was the exact same player in 2019 that he was in 2018. His production dropped off at the same rate as the entire rest of our passing game. You can ***** about the whole offense sucking, but saying we didn't "showcase" Wilcox is just cherry picking what you'd like to complain about.

Percent of Passing Yards and TDs per year

Here's Wilcox's portion of the offense the past two years.

2018 - 540 receiving yards out of 3173, 17% of the total and 2 TD receptions out of 17 for the offense, 12% of the total

2019 - 350 out of 2035, 17% and 5 TDs out of 18, 28% of the total

You could even make the argument Wilcox was better this season. Caught more TD passes AND took on a bigger blocking role in the running game.

7th round most likely means undrafted free agent

I drafted FA is probably a better situation than being drafted 7th round.

It's also ignores that he had to stay in to the block more due to our awful OL play.

I mean it'd be nice if he went higher than 7th rd for various reasons, but if he lands in SF that's a great spot for him. Shanahan's offense does a great job of putting personnel into positions to succeed and his increased role along the line this season should help him get on the field in reprieve situations. The combine should highlight his athleticism to get him drafted and if he goes to SF he becomes a better player that should help with longevity and is an injury away from being featured in an offense that values his position.

Learning from Kittle wouldn't hurt either, epically when it comes to run blocking

He's one of the best run blocking TEs in the game and Wilcox struggles with run blocking. Even if it's not a take the rookie under your wing type thing there would be nobody better for him to watch and learn from.
