Dan Patrick on his ESPN radio show hinted that the Devil Rays may change their name as part of the overhaulin process the new owner plans to accomplish.

supposedly Sternberg is thinking about it, but I don't see any major name change happening.  They've already got that "under construction" campaign with the TB and the ray under it.  They'd have to scrap the whole thing if they changed to the tampa bay anglers or something.  I think he's just gonna make official what's been unofficial for teh past couple years and get rid of the "devil" in devil rays.

Tarpons...they have played one or two games in the red uniforms of the old Tampa Tarpons, why not just switch permanently.

they are making money.  they were the second most profitable franchise in mlb last year.
