Yeah I get it.

They certainly can't get much worse, so in combination with this OC, I would imagine that they would improve, whether thats enough to compete in the Top half of the Big 10, I have my doubts.

I'm hoping they just get destroyed year after year and then replaced in the conference.  That would be neat.

I guess anything is possible.  Shiano was able to revive them before.  I just kind of look at Rutgers and Maryland as the SEC Vanderbilt version of the Big 10.

That's why Rutgers got the invite. Well eyeballs, population density and to be the doormat win that counted as a P5 game.

They brought back Schiano and he just stole a really good OC from Oklahoma State, I remember we wanted him here before bringing in Bell

It’s really not. Again turning it around doesn’t mean 10 win seasons, there are three to four winnable conference games a year in the big ten. Aside from Ohio St, there really isn’t anyone to special.

We should understand the value of making a bowl game.

Out of curiosity what constitutes a Doormat? Getting blown out by Ohio State? That would mean over 90% of college football teams are doormats.

finishing in the bottom of the division year after year and not competing for a division title year after year

We rarely  compete for a division title. And probably finish at the bottom more than we do.  We can revisits this in a years time but make no mistake. Ohio state is special, the big ten is  not.
