It was a clear rules violation and he's gotten away with more than his fair share over the years

But it wasn't a clear rules violation.  Here is a snippet of the article.  I'm not saying he is a Saint by any means and I'm sure there have been some questionable things going on over the years.  But you don't think that the same things go on at many other schools like Armwood, come on!

In September, Weiner and Misty Winter, the program’s director of football operations, each received six-week suspensions, and the two were fined a combined $10,000 by the Florida High School Athletic Association, in large part for providing impermissible benefits to a player.

Both had their fines and suspensions either reduced or wiped away after the FHSAA determined there were no recruiting violations with either one regarding the football program.

I'm not sure how that "snippet" negates the clear rules violation comment.  And I'm sure many school cheat.  Some get caught like Armwood did a few years ago.

Yeah the FHSAA really screwed him and the team over this past year.  I know he loves Plant, but maybe he figured its finally time to move on, and the FHSAA is looking for any reason to try to bring him and Plant down, it seems.

What happened?

Did you read the last sentence that I had highlighted from the article - Both had their fines and suspensions either reduced or wiped away after the FHSAA determined there were no recruiting violations with either one regarding the football program.

That seems pretty clear to me!

The article I read said his was reduced to 3 games and $5000

He appealed, and the suspension was reduced to three games. Weiner was still fined $5,000.

Uh...he burned that bridge.

That was 6 years, 2 coaching staffs, 2 ADs and 1 administration ago

If CJS wanted him, he probably could have hired him

My guess is CJS had no interest

It was always interesting to me that somehow, someway all these amazing Hillsborough county football players found a family member or guardian who happened to live in the Plant HS District (the most expensive area of Tampa) during their Senior years and would transfer in.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
