There is another distillery that is quite similar BRUICHLADDICH which makes a type sans peat, you should maybe give it a whirl. I probably like there one that is most like Laphroaig better than Laphroaig but it’s not as regularly available if I am out.

I go with GlenGoyne 10yr for no peat.  Love Macallan 12 and Aberlour 16.

I am happy to hear you did not confine you whisky passion to simply bourbon, I find Scotch to have more diversity by the regions and complexity to it. I am sure that it obviously exists in Bourbon too but I think it’s more subtle and it is lost on me.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world but it would be a bitter pill to swallow and I’m hoping to not have to deal with it.
