I think Fernandez has done a great job and should be able to stay as long as he likes, but you have to admit that it’s a pretty good argument that maybe conference championships aren’t the only measure of a head coach and sometimes what looks like a plateau may actually be the pinnacle of a program. I am sure when Uconn is gone we will get a conference championship just as I am sure that competing against Uconn is more impressive than winning a conference they aren’t in.

Thats one of the most intelligent posts I think I've seen you write!   I agree with all points.

It is his end of the year gift to us.  A moment of not being the contrarian.  But 2020 is only a couple of days and he'll hit it hard with a resolution to be the biggest puc among us.

It’s perfectly aligned with all of my arguments that people are wildly inconsistent in their stances doesn’t make me a contrarian it makes me steadfast.

Don't make me go back and find threads where you argued both sides of the same issue.  I know they are out there. 😏

Ya, no. WBB is a pretty unique situation where we have to content with a perennial challenger for the national championship. There is no reason for not having won a conference championship in football. It should have been done in CCS' first year if not any other.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
