I'm sure he loved the area, but he wasn't happy coaching here.  Maybe "hated" is a little strong, but I know he told one fellow coach that he was lucky not to get the job here.

Because he was handcuffed.  Face to face on the practice field at La Tech he told me he hoped to be here forever.

For those that think he wasn't held to different standards, here are some APR numbers for USF Football:

06-07 - 917
07-08 - 909
08-09 - 930
09-10 - 952
10-11 - 963
11-12 - 970
12-13 - 973
13-14 - 970
14-15 - 958
16-17 - 965
17-18 - 960

We were close to facing penalties under CJL thus the demand for him to bring up the APR.

A couple of La Tech's numbers:

14-15 - 934
17-18 - 954

Please note that APRs represent a four-year rolling average and are subject to fluctuation as academic performance data from the most recent year are included.

To compete in the 2019-20 postseason, teams must achieve a 930 four-year APR. NCAA members chose the 930 standard because that score predicts, on average, a 50 percent graduation rate for a given team. Additionally, teams must earn at least a 930 four-year APR to avoid penalties.

Teams scoring below 930 can face consequences intended to direct additional focus to academics. Those penalties can include practice restrictions and playing-season reductions, allowing teams to fill the time that would have been spent on athletics with academic activities.

The Academic Performance Program penalty structure includes three levels, with penalties increasing in severity at each level. Schools move through the penalty structure each year, progressing to the next level of severity if their multiyear APR remains below the benchmark

Judyites are the source of all UEF athletic misery

The prophecy clearly stated that no coach could have more than one good year at USF until the Jim is rightly restored to his thrown. A pox is upon this program and we must do right in order to break the curse.

I was thinking more of them as human sacrifices to break the curse ..... doubt the selfish bastards would go along with it, though.

Good for Skip in beating Miami again.

My view of him has improved some since Strong.  He atleast had some nice wins here.

They both sucked, for the most part bad memories from both coaches after some early success from the prior administrations players.

You say the academic standards changed for him, and Im not doubting that.  But wasnt Willie up against the same standards?  Judy was still here and we werent pre-iminent yet.

For whatever reason, Skippy couldnt get it done here.  Much like CCS, each year got worse.  So Im not sure what giving him more time would have done.

Its interesting but Im done with this topic.  It is sooo in the past.  And we have a bright future to look forward to.

No. I can 100% say that from the one inside source I have inside USF football, xCWT was putting kids in the absolutely easiest places he could to keep them eligible and he was not operating under the same restrictions/expectations for academics.

I know. I've said many times and am on record as being a xCSH apologist. There are plenty of reasons to bash him, but the golfing thing is ridiculous. As is the statement that he didn't want to be here.
