As a Michael, I prefer Michael, but will answer to Mike although I feel a little disrespected if I've already told someone that I prefer Michael. Only my wife calls me Mikey.

What about M?

I appreciate all that you wrote. I just wrote a simple "he prefers Michael".  Didn't mean to set you off with that. I apologize.

No need for apology at all.(but do you really?) Ha! Nope not "set off" either. I just thought that reply was way way way out of the realm of the "spirit" of the comment. I doubt I will be at MK's house dining or sending him a Christmas or b-day card. More times than not most reference to Kelly is MK. Guess I thought if anyone commented on my words it might be something of a positive nature, aimed at the man I was attempting to show my gratitude to.  "Set off"?( c'mon date fighting words)   Ha! no I don't get set off on TBP. I just shake my head sometimes and mutter WTF at some of the things people write on someone's posts. You have 14,028 posts vs my mere 870 so I must yield to the higher power. I pray Michael Kelly forgives me for my error.

Actually, Cuz..if you read my comments you should ascertain that I was just screwing with you..I just thought it was a goofy remark vs the subject of my post. Believe me, this is far from serious stuff. All in fun...cuz, All in fun..

That was all I was doing. I asked him which he prefers and told me Michael. Was just passing that on. There are people that call him Mike and I haven't seen hit them upside the head or anything. And to add some levity:

I will call him whatever he wants to be called if he wins.  I will call him whatever I want to call him if he doesn’t, simple as that.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

    Michael Kelly
