My hunch is CJS will wait it out till Saban retires and Dabo goes back to his alma mater so he can go back home to take over Clemson.  This opportunity was the easiest way for him to build something and win consistently.  If he went to Ole Miss or Mizzou or BC what are the odds he could win as quickly if at all.  Building USF back up and winning a conference championship or 2 is the easiest path back to Clemson when that time arrives.

A lot of people speculate Dabo would go to Bama but if these Clemson guys (including Scott) are so different why would Dabo ever do that.  if they are such a family how could he have more of a sentimental connection to Bama than Clemson.  For the same money, a little harder road to championships, and at best end up in a three way tie for all time best coach at your institution while dealing with a super entitled fan base.

They are mostly young which is good...more to prove and hungry to prove they are good.  But with that comes more likely to bolt when any P5 team comes sniffing around with a open wallet.

Or maybe $2+million a year is enough to make him happy and he just stays here, creates a dynasty, gets USF into the P5 and lives happily ever after.

if usf gets into a p5 2 million becomes 4 million a year

at this point clemson may be a better job

now if bama pays millions more per year that is a different story

This program is being built for the P5. Relax and enjoy the ride. The Holidays are upon us and it's time to rejoice.

No way Dabo goes to Bama... you're spot on here.  He will be there till the end like Bowden at FSU. Well... unless he pulls an Urban.

You sir are way too many spiked egg nogs deep. However, I do like the optimism.

The coaches are mostly young, hungry, and well regarded. With that they will definitely have an eye out for bigger opportunities but they won't get those unless the team is successful. I will take that bargain/gamble

I agree...much rather have our coaches taken away than having to fire them.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
