Only member on staff that I would keep is King. I would also move him back to QB coach, but I am just an USF fan on the internet.

We need new blood for defense.

We saw little player development on the defense over last three years with Strong.

Maybe we can get a DL coach from Clemson to be a DC here.

I have absolutely nothing against Shaun King. Other than watching him QB the Bucs for a short while, I actually know very little about him. What I want to know is why so many think he needs to stick around with a new staff. Again, it makes no difference to me one way or the other. Is it strictly for his perceived recruiting skills? Is it because he is a phenomenal position coach, and if so, why is he still just a position coach? Just trying to ask for help understanding this sentiment. Thanks.

he was QB coach when we had this guy name Flowers.

All jokes aside,  I believe there is an award to back up his recruiting chops, not just an assumption.

King was named Recruiter of the year in the AAC by 247 Sports in 2017- his Wiki

Looks like he was a one class wonder at USF - or maybe he took online courses 🤦‍♂️ He played four years in Missouri from 1975 through 1979 and somehow graduated in 1979 from USF (WTF?). At the same time, he was an assistant coach at Desoto County high school in 1979.
