Just now, Brad said:

I think he could have been played, as they say.  I hope I’m wrong.  Grothe also said “Leavitt or Larry Scott”.  I think he left happy with that and it could be Larry Scott.

Would be a disastrous hire then, ouch

And I don’t want to be USF’s useful idiot that let’s the air out of the balloon and disappoints everyone so they don’t have to, but I’m concerned.

I think Leavitt is the obvious choice.

Those guys at TDS put the odds of Jim Leavitt becoming head coach at 500:1 early in a story they had.  When I first saw those odds in an excerpt posted here, I thought it was just a joke designed to further deride CJL. Afterall, “the field” was like 7:2 or something close.  But it was actually part of their story.  So, for them to do that, I have to believe they may have received  information from Michael Kelly or his proxy.  They seem to have been embraced by USF Athletics this last season.  I’m beginning to think this was the chosen way for Kelly and USF to dismiss Leavitt as a candidate and front run it with their useful idiots at TDS.  It was an attempt to extinguish the thought before it took hold in larger USF Bulls fan communities.

Clearly if that was the plan, it didn't work.

Then of course Nathan follows with a comment deleterious to Leavitt that he hit a player.  Not allegedly.

Hope I’m wrong, but beginning to smell a 🐀.

Talk about a second shooter on the grassy knoll...what’s next? Elvis is alive?

Brad, just admit that you and 90% of this board have been suckered into believing CJL is coming back based on sources that are dubious at best.

That would only happen if they brought back Leavitt because he would be "loyal" to the program.  Michael Kelly is going for the gold with this hire, Leavitt would bring the bronze.

I will admit I’m guilty of that because I really thought Leavitt would have been the best hire at this point in time. All this means is that the Ghost of Leavitt will continue to live on and hopefully not continue to haunt this program.

How can there be a ghost of Leavitt when he's still alive?

At first I wanted to ignore them because, well, they've been wrong so much.  But they seemed so confident.  Add that to JK’s complete omission of JL, it seems they must have known a helluva lot more than Bulls fans.  Reading Grothe’s tweets it seems he was to leave with the feeling of Leavitt or Larry.  We’ll see.

Incorrect.  My posts and beliefs are built on the foundation that he is the best available for this program. That belief remains.
