Actually I never did know the man. That’s why I used the word “maybe”.

Point is there was no conversion, as you suggest.

It's stood for 10 years because of non-shortsighted fans like you, puc, Faza, etc who have put their love of the university above the love of a coach. Whatever direction MK goes, and there's really nobody I'd rather have making this decision at this point in time, it will be in the best interest of USF, based on what options he had available.

I think many non Leavitt supports will still welcome him back...I know I would. But I wonder if the opposite occurs (Leavitt not getting the job) will that crowd support the new hire or will nick pick every small issue that could occur.

Ahh...ok. Well he is certainly more “godly” on line now than he was in the past. But maybe he is more comfortable now expressing his ideology.

True, but some of the missing 40,000 are a direct result of the Leavitt sacking.

I agree.  Not only has Jim served his sentence for allegations of wrongdoing, but so too has the program and many fans.  Right the wrongs and get going again. Strong created an opportunity for Michael Kelly to become great.

That’s what I was thinking...which would not be fair to the new coach and will separate the fan base. It’s almost become like supporting a political party now. People are getting pissy on both sides on the debate. MK has a big big decision. The idea of JK coming back is starting to grow on me...a little.

Which could potentially do even more damage to the program...shame.

Just say no to JK! Yes to JL.

I don't think there's much more harm to do, really.   If Kelly goes with another rental coach or Leavitt, the only way is up.  Or, we just shut it down.  Those few still left are likely in it until the end regardless.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
