True but, he wasn't the one calling the plays and putting his guys in optimal scoring position either.

Ironically, the OC & guy calling plays for Clemson that year was Billy Napier who is receiving quite a bit of P5 buzz after turning around ULL

not sure what that means. someone questioned his recruiting abilities. said it was easy to recruit to a national champion. they signed DeAndre hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Martavis bryant, Adam Humphries that year we beat them in the bowl game.

Jeff scott is the one that always makes rivals top 25 recruiters list. he has ties to the area as well. I also think he might be the easier get. I'd be ok with any of these 3 and even similar such coaches.

young ambitious energetic offensive minded preferably from southeast with florida recruiting ties. No Georgia OC though.

Does the name Orlando Antigua ring a bell?  Edit: Sorry, someone brought that up a page later.

no hire is without risk.

do you never hire a good recruiter/assistant again?

+ our basketball job is a different beast. Gregory does yeoman's work.

You are absolutely right.  Just that any time I read "He's a great recruiter" that coach comes to mind.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
