He has shown that to everyone. Sorry, hard pass.

He is still young and ambitious (probably still wants to be first black coach to win national championship). He can recruit and knows Florida. He runs a spread adaptable to USF recruits. He will still be gone at the first chance up he gets, but that means he probably has us winning again, we just need to have a buyout on his end if he leaves. I think Taggart has to be near the top of the list. If we were to rehire Taggart, he might not be a lifer, but I think he would be pretty discerning in looking at other openings since he's done the dance once and at least has it under his belt. What do I know though.

EVERY next hire will leave for a program that can pay them more and in conference with a path to the playoff.

Elliott interviewed at UCF. Maybe he is looking for a quick turnaround instead of a rebuild. he also interviewed for GTech though and didn't get it. If there's one thing about CWT you can say it's that he's not afraid to learn from bad experiences and adapt/change. If he were to return and be successful i still don't see him sticking around long term but I too think he would be a little more choosey about what he left for. I agree Taggart may not be a lifer, but if we can structure a deal that makes sense, I believe he will stay with us a long time and have some real passion for USF and the community.
