No to Taggart he will leave for every opportunity. He has shown that to everyone. Sorry, hard pass.

Taggart is a good fit still.

He is still young and ambitious (probably still wants to be first black coach to win national championship).

He can recruit and knows Florida.

He runs a spread adaptable to USF recruits.

He will still be gone at the first chance up he gets, but that means he probably has us winning again, we just need to have a buyout on his end if he leaves.

I think Taggart has to be near the top of the list.

If we were to rehire Taggart, he might not be a lifer, but I think he would be pretty discerning in looking at other openings since he's done the dance once and at least has it under his belt. What do I know though.

could be right. maybe he realizes that making $2M+ here isn't such a bad lifetime gig. especially after what happened at FSU.

If has another opportunity, it means we won.

EVERY next hire will leave for a program that can pay them more and in conference with a path to the playoff.

Staying at Clemson as OC versus coming to USF as HC.....smart man.

Elliott interviewed at UCF. Maybe he is looking for a quick turnaround instead of a rebuild. he also interviewed for GTech though and didn't get it.

If there's one thing about CWT you can say it's that he's not afraid to learn from bad experiences and adapt/change.  If he were to return and be successful i still don't see him sticking around long term  but I too think he would be a little more choosey about what he left for.

If a big-name school comes calling, and Taggart is in the seat, I think he will know the downsides of that versus some other guy, who may jump. I agree Taggart may not be a lifer, but if we can structure a deal that makes sense, I believe he will stay with us a long time and have some real passion for USF and the community.

Not sure why a guy who only has 1 year experience running an offense (which was #118 in the country) should be at the top of our board
