Jim Leavitt, FSU assistant
Let’s address this right up front: The guy who built the Bulls program from scratch got a $2.75 million settlement from USF a year after his 2010 firing. When it was announced, the Tampa Bay Times reported the settlement stipulates that Leavitt cannot apply for any job at USF “in any capacity,” and that if he does, USF “is free to reject and disregard it.”

To me this says that he COULD get back. Why would they say "cannot apply" AND THEN "is free to reject it"?

Doesn't mean the University can't offer him a job...

Because their envy and stupidity overtook any sense of reason and logic?  Seriously, we should have investigated the investigators.  What a sham.   But, it's a university..  LOL

Greg Auman was a hero to USF fans...I have long wished he did an investigation.

USF was trying to CTA on that stipulation.

Uh, free to reject it means they don’t have to give the application any consideration - as they would with others as a state-run entity. Those of you still hanging onto Leavitt, PLEASE just let it go. Please. Don’t waste any more time thinking or talking about it. He has his place in USF history as the architect of the program. There is no more to come.

The love for CWT just amazes me.  Talk about a guy who never won ANYTHING, and we want him back?  CWT was two games away from being fired.

As far as CJL (yes, I was around from the beginning), but still, even without the crazy situation surrounding his firing, we would have let him go eventually, not a single 10 win season or conference championship.

Romanticizing the past is not healthy.

What would they have to reject if he's not allowed to apply in the first place? Not trying to argue, just a curious line, that's all.

My guess was they couldn't really tell someone they can't apply.

Not curious at all. When they drafted that, they certainly weren’t thinking about leaving a loophole for him to return. Is that really what you guys are saying?
