That upstart is the first to go. Who does he think he is? Trying to show people that he can find better talent than coach. Examples must be made, unfortunately

Okay. You fire him. How do you pay him and the next guy?

That's part of his job.  Nobody said it was going to be easy

We paid CCS P5 money with a G5 budget, can only go to the bank so many times before they turn you away.

We can start with OC.  It's just a coincidence that every one that has worked for strong has sucked

It is quite literally Kelly’s job to make it work. That’s why he is the AD. Find the funds in the couch cushion, or raise them.

Can you put a value on the amount of long term damage this program will sustain with another year of Charlie Strong? On top of how far he has already set us back?

Time to get creative. Just like the creativity Harlan showed in creating this horrible contract in the first place. To say such creativity is impossible in this circumstance is short sighted.

Would it be difficult? Sure. Financially painful? Sure. Worth it in the long run? Absolutely.

I'd love to see the budget for your house.  Buy that new Corvette and then the wife wants a $30k diamond?  Sure. Make it work. Gotta make her happy.  You need a new roof too?  $15k.  Find the money.  Oh, you don't have it. Then borrow it. Problem is USF Athletics doesn't work that way.  Why haven't they started on the IPF since 1/2 the money has been promised?  Well, you actually need to have 1/2 the money in the bank. The rest of it promised over the other 4 years doesn't count.

Your response just isn't based in reality or fiscal responsibility.  Athletics is part of a University and all the purse strings are under the auspices of the Foundation.  There is a Board of Trustees that get involved in this stuff.  What AD in the country could be in the situation and make the money appear?  Not one.

The OC is too high profile. The equipment team is the place to start. They create problems very week by picking new jeresy/helmet combos. It’s the obvious place to start since the staff is perfect and you can’t kick all the players off the team

The real problem is Harlan made a bad contract. We shouldn’t have hired Strong for the price we did to begin with. The buyout was secret because it was bad for USF, that’s shady.

You get a coach that was fired.  But only way you do that without getting another Strong is you get one that showed he was good just wasn't able to satisfy a program with very high expectations.  But not sure that type of coach would be interested in this job.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
