I don't know enough about available coaches so here's my wish list of traits:

-No one on the current staff (Shaun King needs to try out a position like OC before head coach, and Bell has shown nothing at this level to inspire confidence)

-No one who runs a pro style offense or has any desire to try it

-Can evaluate talent and put kids in the right position

-Has ties to a fertile recruiting ground and can bring in a good QB

-Personality/behavior will not embarass us

-Has good game day processes (knows when to go for two, use timeouts, etc)

-Offensive minded

-Can bring excitement back and win

-Last named isn't Schiano, Holtz or Strong

This makes ZERO sense. 

If Strong gets FIRED next season (only way I see the HC position available), then NEXT season is a failure.  Which would mean the offense is most likely a failure also. Why would you want to promote someone that has had a failing offense for 2 straight seasons with us?
