Here is a list of service providers that carry ESPN360: Adelphia, Beld, Bend, Charter (St. Louis and Los Angeles), Frontier DSL, Grande, Knology, Mediacom, Mid-Hudson, Spencer Municipal Utilities, Starstream Communications, Sus-com and Us Cable.

Zonald, theoretically they have said that this will be available on campus within the usf.edu domain to folks.  Is that true?  Who knows, but maybe there are some options there as well.

It may only yield Gary's low frame rate method, but maybe that paired with the radio play by play may be something?

Unsure what the sound options are.

Dang, can't believe this one didn't even make it to ESPN + for regional PPV.

I hope its available with an on campus IP.   That would be great news. I can get one of those suckers via the on campus VPN or through the library web proxy system!  Here's to hope...

I figured that. But people use NetMeeting to play games, so maybe the frame rate will be decent.

Video on ESPN360 will almost certainly be overlayed, so capturing it to re-route through a NetMeeting-type application would be impossible.

Now, if you had two computers, one with a video capture card, and routed an S-Video out of the ESPN360 feed toward the other computer, captured, broadcast, etc... that would work, though the frame rate would be very slow (10 frames/sec or so) and, again, it would be up to the upload bandwidth to dictate how many could watch. That's why ESPN360is limited to certain ISPs... it's the ones whose routers are set up for the complex multicasting that is necessary for that much data to flow that quickly.

Where the hell did ESPN come up with such a rediculous idea?  This makes them look like a high school production, IMO.

FYI,

The ESPN networks games on at the time of our game:

ESPN - Wisconsin v. Minnesota (however between 4:00 and 7:00 they have 2 episodes of the 2004 Worlds Strongest Man Competition, the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, and Sportscenter)

ESPN2 - Northwestern v. Purdue (between 4:00 and 7:00 they have College Gameday that they just was just shown on ESPN, the NHRA Lucas Oil Sportsman Series, and PRCA Bull Riding Xtreme Bulls)

ESPNU - Indiana v. Illinois

Look's like a Big Ten morning.

There's still the old fashioned way of tuning in the ol' AM radio to 970, closing your eyes and using your imagination...

God how did our parents and grandparents survive?
