He was the head coach at SMU when Arkansas hired him.

Well yeah everyone starts as a coordinator so your point makes no sense. He was successful as SMU head coach that’s why he got the job.

Why are you so down on the guy, he almost won a conference game in his tenure at Arkansas, that has to count for something.
