Puc will tell you this is a mediocre coach. 44-40 record.

The point being made is, this is not a powerhouse school that was chopped full of talent.  Herman won with Strong's guys coming of age. Now that his players are in, well he isn't in the top 25 with the richest football budget in college football. Year four is the magic number when you have to build with your own players. CCS did well with Flowers, just like Taggart. The the lack of talent of the program happened and now he is trying to build legit talent. Defense is about there and the offense needs a 10 player portal infusion, just like the D got last year. It was good to see the recruits CCS brought in get some quality time yesterday without any major drop on D. Bell will bring in a young QB and we will get some help from all positions on O from the portal and you will forget this mess that we are having to endure. McCloud is not a dang qb. Period!!!

My god man, do you even attempt to proof read what you write. Your writings are the most bipolar on this board. You are for Strong one minute and against the next.

Just a little FYI for ya, these are all Strongs guys. The same ones with brick hands and broken arms are all Strongs recruits. So there is no reason to state he's still addressing the previous staffs gaffs unless you're talking about Strongs previous staff, then you may be right.

P.S. I do think Bell can make things work. Bell needs his guys, not Strongs.

Atterbury, Norman, Clearveaux, Phillips... I'm pretty sure were not Strong's guys.

Please stop...

Charlie did not have to rebuild here, he just had to maintain.

If you think this cupboard was stocked and a foundation with depth, it's clear that you can't evaluate talent.

Well at least this time you didn't insult people by saying the ppl in the stands probably had free tickets....

Purely on a W-L record I agree that expectations should be managed a bit more.  We shouldn't be too upset about a coach with 2 winning seasons having a losing season after big playmakers left and there was a rebuild going on.  Especially now with a young qb, new OC, etc etc....there are lots of things that require patience.

HOWEVER, it is not about just wins and losses.  "The process" has been awful.  Quarterbacks have been completely misused these past two years.  He chose a pro QB to focus on with a team built for the spread.  When that QB went down last year, he never chose a true backup and instead alternated between two guys.  That pissed them both off to the point of leaving, and that has burned us this year because we have no depth.  This year he brings in an OC who still wants to stick with the pro style QB even though the same problems that got the QB hurt last year are still present.

His time management sucks, his killer instinct sucks (kneeldowns at the 40 yd line to end a half), his excuses (blaming uniforms) suck, etc etc.

We have seen enough.  He very well could have success given time, but most of us feel it would be in spite of these handicaps he places on the team.  For those who see it that way, there is no reason to want him here anymore.

So he went 11-2 with good playmakers. He now just has to blow up the portal to get an offense.

Confidence in Vincent Davis to replace Studstill. The LB room is much deeper now. Playing much better.

Kids aren't getting better under CCS and his staff. A kid like Norman is the perfect example. Before last season he was getting some NFL chatter and he's nose dived. Atterbury at one point was an above average lineman, now he's pretty much a detriment. St Felix showed some real promise early he's now regressed to basically a non factor. None of of our DT's are any better than when they played as freshmen and there has not been a physical transformation to where they pass the eye test. I could go on but do I really need to? CCS isn't molding these kids into good football players and on top of that he keeps recruiting kids he has to kick out or transfer their out because they can't cut it or don't fit in the program. It's time for him to go but that buy out might prevent that...

Norman was never a prospect...just like you guys were saying Hampton was an nfl guy.

The talent before he got here was sparse on the depth chart.

Ok Coach Strong, I get it now. There is no way to defend getting continually worse over the last 3 years when you've been in charge of the players you brought in. So by attempting to defend the guy in an indefensable position, It gives you away. Please do every one a Solid and just pack up and move on.

The players have regressed his recruits haven't progressed. If we have the cash your boy is done and he's failed here just like Texas. Have fun following him around while he's a DC or position coach because his days as a HC are over.

Yeah, Charlie's best year came in his first year, with a mostly Taggart-recruited team.  I think you have lost your way.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
