BullDoug Posted October 10, 2005 Group: Member Topic Count: 469 Content Count: 4,451 Reputation: 52 Days Won: 0 Joined: 12/27/2001 Share Posted October 10, 2005 I mentioned this at work and this guy says football players can this because it doesn't take conditioning to play football.  He says soccer players are better conditioned and all around athletes.  Am I within reason to think he's absurd or is there a legitmate argument?  IMO skilled football players are some of the world's fastest, strongest and close to the best conditioned.  Many play multiple sports.  I just roll my eyes at this idea.  He also thinks tennis players rate high athletically.  While I agree tennis players are athletic, IMO, football & basketball players are the greatest "pure" athletes.  But for speed & power, I don't know anything that compares w/football.
