Even though they were more sizzle than steak BB, Altron and Reggie have a special place in my heart.

They are about fourth on my listing of USF MBB teams. I really got tired of losing important games to them. Seth Greenberg was a poor mans Willie Tags In terms of PR.

Dobras, Alexander, and Lewis will always be my favorites, they were prime rib.

They have work to do to be considered better than AC  and company.

Speaking of special places in heart the Shahid tournament team in 89-90

Player Class Pos Height Summary
Radenko Dobras SO G 6-7 16.6 Pts, 3.1 Reb, 3.9 Ast
Hakim Shahid SR C 6-7 16.2 Pts, 12.4 Reb, 1.0 Ast
Fred Lewis   F 6-7 12.5 Pts, 7.4 Reb, 1.6 Ast
Marvin Taylor   G 6-1 12.2 Pts, 3.7 Reb, 5.1 Ast
Tony Armstrong JR G 6-1 7.6 Pts, 1.6 Reb, 1.8 Ast
Bobby Russell SO F 6-5 6.5 Pts, 2.9 Reb, 2.4 Ast
Andre Crenshaw   G 6-2 4.4 Pts, 1.1 Reb, 0.7 Ast
Chris Risey JR F 6-8 2.1 Pts, 1.8 Reb, 0.5 Ast
Jay Smith   G 6-4 1.8 Pts, 1.6 Reb, 0.4 Ast
Maurice Webster JR G 6-1 1.0 Pts, 0.3 Reb, 0.5 Ast
Steve Williams   F 6-5 0.8 Pts, 0.7 Reb, 0.2 Ast

However, it is very hard to argue from top to bottom we've ever had a team with as much talent as we have right now.  Let's see what they do with it.

I love that 89-90 team. They are likely the most "special" team in terms of USF hoops history. This current team, however, is the best USF men's basketball team I've witnessed in 30 years. I'll say the 89-90 team was like Bird and Magic for me, and this current team in MJ; both were amazing but only one greatest ever. Not a perfect analogy, I know, but close enough. 😁🤘

Now, gotta go get ready for my drive up to Annapolis. 🏈

Go Bulls!

I think we determined we are the same age so they were our team and that has to play a factor in the rankings. Also Seth used to bring used to bring us bagels and pizza so if anything he was the rich Willie who only brought us things like words, 2 win seasons and FCS losses.

I was too busy attending elementary school in South South Florida and didn’t get to follow them.

We've had some fine players throughout the years , but I think the best team so far was with Dobras ,Alexander , and Lewis. Hopefully this team will be even better,  We have the best coach in years.
