Your ******* joking right...”everyone”??!? 2007 team would not beat three of these teams. Prior to 07 your looking at 5 teams. Keep the Jim Leavitt circle jerk going...

Should we have ended up in this crap conference we would have just been named all time champions and everyone else would play for second, the thought of losing to FCS and G5 opponents was unfathomable to our program and while UCF would win their lower conference titles we would beat them 100-0, losing to them, FAU and FIU was not even a possibility now we celebrate our yearly victory against a team that has not beaten another FBS team in years. Some of us misremember the past but it’s not the ones that celebrate CJL and his unrivaled accomplishments.

Cincinnati won a few of them, Cincinnati is here too. Conference affiliation isn’t a relegation league.

So does Pitt and Syracuse who hadn’t done anything in decades and Rutgers does too even though they did just barely more than us after century more head start. Uconn and Cincinnati both won the conference both are here, winning factored exactly zero in conference realignment as evinced by the results of anyone that changed conferences. Boise was probably the biggest noise maker at the time remind me again what power conference  are they in?

I remember a radio call -in show had Brett on. He said something like, with respect to USF, they need to be going in the right direction when realignment happens. That was in 2018 .He alluded this re alignment  could happen I n 2020.

Pitt and Cuse were national brands with a lot of football history. Ville was more like us football wise. True they had an established MBB brand which helped but P5 is about FB. If they were like us I suspect the AAC would have looked to WVU. Ville was in the BE the same time we were they won championships and we did not. One of those teams is at the big boys table (and Boise is a community college academically so don’t bother going there).

That’s a big “could.” The reality is that no G5 team brings $22 million a year to compensate for expansion.

The difference between us and Louisville is that Adidas will pay players as much to go there as it will pay us for our entire athletic department.
