Like the floor, not the helmets.  Need to distance ourselves from USF, too directional and commuter, South Florida is more international and exotic.

My excitement was more from the fact that floor was being put down for the start of MBB. I actually liked the old floor better with the USF. As for the helmets...they were best we have ever worn...although I would have liked the decal to have been larger...

The acronym USF is TOO directional while SOUTH Florida (which actually contains a direction word) isn't? I wonder if if other acronym schools like UCLA or USC are too directional to be well known and successful. Thoughts?

South Florida sounds bad ass and USF sounds like HCC IMO.  If we are talking about this our team is LAMO, Louisiana Monroe or lame, same difference.

Technically, Louisiana Monroe uses ULM. Not sure if that helps or hurts us with your analogy. But as someone who obviously has ties to our school, I'd say I use "USF" about 98% of the time when referring to us. So it doesn't really bother me when I see that show show up.

Edit: Might be because I actually grew up in South Florida. The real geographical region.
