Be Happy people are mad, Apathy is next

Recommended Posts

In an effort of trying to manufacture butts in the stands, the coaches tried to convince fans how good and prepared this team was in the offseason. They spoke of how many weapons we have in offense. How dangerous and deep we are now at linebacker. Hook, Line and sinker. The buzz was returning and then...they played. I love this school and I’ve been a USF fan since I was 12. My biggest fear is that the cloud of apathy is approaching, or worse it’s here. Words have lost their meaning entirely. An empty stadium is expensive, but deceiving a fan base might’ve been more costly. I hate the doom and gloom but I still care. Go Bulls.

The apathy has already arrive. Most of of fans I talked to yesterday went into the game thinking we were going to lose. I used to go to the games because of the game, now I just go to tailgate and spend time with friends and family.

Apathy set in 5 years ago with the break up of the Big East. Nobody in the Tampa Bay area is excited to see games against two of the worst programs in the "Power 6" in UConn and ECU, and cross over games with Tulane and Tulsa. And while the top G5 school gets into a NY6 game, the Big East has its own automatic qualifier for the BCS.

Kelly has done a nice job in propping up the schedule with P5 studs over the next 10 years, but the program needs to get out of the nosedive its in.
