"Bull Mania" To Tip-Off Basketball Seasons At USF Oct. 14

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of South Florida men’s and women’s basketball programs will officially tip-off their respective 2005-06 campaigns with “Bull Mania” on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. in the USF Sun Dome.

The event is free and open to both USF students and the general public.

The evening will include free food (while supplies last) from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m., with the actual program slated to start at 8 p.m. Entertainment includes comedian Benji Brown, the Harlem Wizards, promotional contests and prizes. Both the USF SunDolls and cheer squads will perform, along with the band. The men’s and women’s teams will be introduced and participate in skits.

“The whole family will be able to enjoy this event,” Assistant Athletic Director Kosha Irby said. “There will be something for everyone and we look forward to the opportunity to give fans a glimpse of what they will be able to enjoy all season long.”

A recent change in NCAA legislation now allows teams to begin Friday evening, rather than waiting until midnight.
