A kid that's local to the university a beat writer covers just took the job from a high profile transfer who was the entrenched starter. Bonus points for the same beat reporter being the guy for covering the local high school scene and yet he's written nothing about that transition during a bye week. Come the **** on. What other relevant usf content has he put in out this week? With his connections this is a no effort story. Which is usually right up his alley. If he was putting out good content I'd be forgiving but....

If no one else is measured by it how does it provide any insight on the relative popularity of a single program? The number that every other program uses is the relative number because it’s actually relatable. And if you want to do journalism you can investigate a portion of programs and see how it relates to actual attendance but if you only select one school because it is easy and act as if they are doing something underhanded you are either doing hit pieces, are lazy or both. This is a freaking lay up of a story. It's literally all local work and considering Joey covers the local high school scene this should be right in his wheel house. Yet here we are.... .... 7 freaking days before our next game ..... but I do agree the story is pretty much a slam dunk.

So what has he done this week for USF, WHICH IS HIS JOB? The bye week is the obvious best time for a story like this. The up coming week is for me match up stories etc.

Is it his fault no one else is? Are you suggesting it’s not “fair”? You sound like you are whining that he was able to get info and other teams can’t. What do you want to compare 19,900 with? It’s low..it’s not complicated. Edited September 22, 2019 by NewEnglandBull

I am suggesting that if he was a reporter and he thought it was an important story he would have invested a few minutes in unearthing some comparative numbers. He seemed dumbfounded when the WSJ article broke that it was possible to get other numbers if anyone ever actually tried.
