Hi Guest,

In our efforts to raise funds for USF Football, the site is giving away a football season full of ad-free surfing at The Bulls Pen.

Would you consider buying a ticket or two to the raffle that will award this to you or a fellow member of the board?

Each ticket purchase goes directly to our effort to raise $10K in "fan money" for the program.  Below is the link:

Thank you,

MBB Non-Conference Schedule & November Primer

Recommended Posts

The men's non-conference basketball schedule was announced last week (below) and while the schedule only includes two games against major conferences in Boston College (ACC) and Florida State (ACC), there are some nice gems in here early if you follow college basketball:

Arkansas - Pine Bluff

  • 13-19 in 2018-19 and 10-8 in the Southwest Athletic Conference
  • 2018-19 NET ranking of 321
  • Projected to finish 3rd in the SWAC this season
  • Returns SWAC Preseason Player of the Year, Guard Martaveous McKnight, who averaged 20.8 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game
  • Also placed Forward Charles Jackson and Guard Gary Blackston to SWAC Preseason First and Second Teams, respectively

Boston College

  • 14-17 and 5-13 in the Atlantic Coast Conference
  • 2018-19 NET ranking of 134
  • No ACC media projections available at this time
  • Returns only 2 of their top 4 leading scorers from last season

IUPUI

  • 16-17 and 8-10 in the Horizon League
  • 2018-19 NET ranking of 207
  • No Horizon League preseason media polls available at this time
  • Byron Rimm II takes over as head coach for Jason Gardner who resigned after a DIU arrest in August
  • Returns leading scorer Guard Cameron Justice and 2018-19 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year Guard Jaylen Minnett

Wofford

  • 30-5 and 18-0 in the Southern Conference
  • 2018-19 NET Ranking of 14
  • Defeated Seton Hall in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Kentucky 62-56 in the Second Round
  • Finished the 2018-19 season ranked #19 in the ESPN Coaches Poll
  • No Southern Conference preseason media polls available
  • Jay McAuley replaces Mike Young who left to take the Virginia Tech job
  • Lose last year's two top leading scores in Fletcher Magee (20.3 ppg) and Cameron Jackson (14.5 ppg)

Loyola Chicago

  • 20-14 and 12-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference
  • 2018-19 NET Ranking of 131
  • Lost to Creighton in the First Round of the NIT 70-61
  • Made it to the NCAA Final Four in 2017-18 losing top Michigan in the national semi-final
  • No Missouri Valley Conference preseason media polls available at this time
  • Returns only 2 of their top 4 leading scorers from last season

As we get closer to the season I'll preview the teams we are playing December including Furman (reached #23 in the AP poll at one point last season), Utah State (a likely preseason Top 25 ranking), and Florida State (finished #13 in the  ESPN Coaches Poll last season after their run to the Sweet 16).

That seems like a nice slate of games to get us ready for the conference season.

Is it just me or is it a little better from an RPI perspective as well?
