Why WOULD we be able to out recruit them? We don't have the Big East thingy anymore.

We have the better city, and I guess you can play in a cavernous pro stadium without any vibe whatsoever.

we had the #1 class in the AAC 2013, 2014, 2015

I agree...the other person I quoted thinks we should be able to out recruit them.

you sound like Strong with the excuses. maybe he shouldn't wrap up his recruiting classes 2 weeks before signing day.

Leavitt and Taggart used to steal kids from top programs on signing day. Holtz and strong liked to finish up 2 weeks before.

What are their coaches doing that ours aren’t? That’s where I was going with it.

That was a much different time. The early signing day has accelerated things for EVERYONE.  Lots of schools even top ones were done "early" so much so that the February signing day is almost irrelevant unless you are in on elite kids that want to drag it out.  Totally different recruiting landscape and schedule now.  The number of quality players after the early signing day is tiny compared to before where you could really make a splash in January (like CJL and CWT did).  It's just not the same world anymore.

They are young and energetic and run a very fun innovative offense.

Strong is a disciplinarian. We seem lifeless on the sidelines most of the time.

Recruits can see the differences in styles.

Not true.Plenty of  Quality recruits are fought over even after signing day. once those elite kids find a spot then the dominoes fall. quality guys that get left out still need a place to play

Strong and Holtz had full classes fighting middle tennessee state and akron while Leavitt and Taggart would steal a few from big time programs at the last minute once the dust settled.

Not saying it's impossible, but I'm saying they have by far the premier team in our conference right now.  Also in Florida.  Up to the 4th QTR of the GT game, we had boredom while they run electric plays every 5 seconds.

Seems like an easier decision...

Actually going by star ratings now (which might mean squat) we are leading UCF in recruiting in avg player like 2.75 to 2.59.

Not bad considering a 8 game losing streak.  If we get rolling with McCloud maybe he can help get a further bump.
