USF’s defense set a new program single-game record with eight takeaways (five fumble recoveries, three interceptions). The previous record of seven was set three different times (last vs. Louisville on Nov. 17, 2007). The Bulls now have 11 takeaways on the year.

USF’s defense also set a school single-game record with five fumble recoveries. Five different Bulls recovered fumbles – Greg Reaves, Kirk Livingstone, Devin Studstill, KJ Sails and Tyrik Jones.

Imo turnovers can kind of mask deficiencies especially if the coaches and players are going to rely on them in future games.  Holtz got into that habbit too.   Some teams aren't going to turn it over.

55 pts really isn't that good for all the opportunities we had.

I remember defensive turnovers was a big deal during skips time here. I remember listening to the call in show and we were last in turnovers or close to it. I will take turnovers . I like Apple and cherry and interceptions and fumble recoveries.

If turnovers becomes our defensive identity remains to be seen.  But if nothing else its giving this defense a confidence and belief, and that can go a long way.  Alot of this game is mental.

At least the defense is developing an identity......Im not sure what our offensive identity is.  Have more concerns with that side of the ball.

Im just happy that the defense seems much improved this year.  Last year, watching the defense taking bad angles and tackling was so frustrating....Defense heading in the right direction fo sho.
