The reason there are no Bowl games on Jan 1st. is simple.... That will be a travel day for us roady bulls! Seriously, 7-4 is good enough for some kind of Bowl, Bulldoug you are still smartin' from 9-2 no bowl season, one benefit of big east is they will get us into a bowl with 7-4 mark.. Lville, Wvu, Us, and uconn or syr. will get spots... My dream is the gator bowl.... Let Nd run table after usc (hopefuly they keep it close) and let them go to bcs bowl which will open gator, that would be sweet.....

If ND gets the Gator and there are 5 eligible bowl teams in the BE, which bowl is going to pick USF if USF doesn't win the BE.  Prolly none of 'em.

First off, you're getting way ahead of yourself. There is more than half a season of football left. With 4 of 6 games left on the road for USF, it will be tough, but we do control our own destiny.

Secondly, if USF is say 7-4 overall that would mean 5-2 in the Big East. A Big East affiliated Bowl is not going to overlook a 5-2 team for a lesser, epsecially if they have to choose from Rutgers, UConn and USF. USF will travel well to their first ever Bowl birth.

Lastly, there should be open slots on other bowl games where a Conference can send one of their teams. I believe UConn went to the Motor City Bowl last season.

According to the BE website, the BE bowls do not have to pick according to conference standings. So I'm betting the money aspect of travelling fans will have a bigger priority and USF may end up on the short end as the USF fans, except for the die hard 2k, don't travel.
