Barnett had to go in this game tonight to prove to his teammates, the fans, and the coaches that McCloud is better.  No excuses for GT or W being better teams.  1:1 against SC, Barnett could not move the ball for 2 series (3 and out). Took Defense to set him up in the red zone to score. Even Evans and Rygol were better. Sucks for him as a grad student but... best player plays.

Let’s not get crazy. 8 turnovers are the biggest difference here. Mostly caused by sc state themselves. Offense has no rhythm, run game non existent. Cronkite injury? Joiner is fast but true freshman and just switched positions again. O line doesn’t know blocking assignments. Receivers had dropsies again.  What’s good? At least with McCloud we can score. His feet give us an edge we need with the shoddy Oline. I really hate pro style offense for us. It doesn’t work here.

Completely disagree...most of the fumbles were strips and hard hits and all of the pics except one was from a DB jumping the route. Give the defense a little credit...

I think the biggest takeaway is how bad the Oline is. The challenge going forward is if McCloud can be quick enough to sense danger and get away from it vs. getting mauled. If so, he seems to have presence and poise to make the throws.

Agree.  I give defense the credit for those turnovers.  They were forced which was good to see.  Still didnt like some of the chunk yards we gave up though.

Still dont feel like team overall is very good right now.  Still needs alot of work, just want to see improvement every week.

But a win is a win is a win, regardless of opponent.  We needed this desperately.  The key will be can we follow up with winnable games against smu and uconn!

McCloud is undefeated , so we are 1-0 in my book. CCS is 1-2.

There are some who seem really upset that the Bulls did not try to score with 30 seconds left on the 5. As the announcers mentioned many times--- the coaching staffs from both teams have worked together many times over the years. They are friends who respect each other and the games outcome is not on the line. The only reason USF was down there was that regular plays led to huge gains. The play calling wasn't trying to get one more score. No one in the rest of the country cares about this game. CCS took a knee for obvious reasons-- sportsmanship and recognizing that it was unnecessary. It is not evidence of lacking a "killer instinct". Just understanding how things are done in the game.

To have some one on this board make this basis of a comment that CCS needs to be fired for NOT RUNNING UP THE SCORE in the last minute-- that seems completely off base to me. There are plenty of good reasons you can use to justify CCS needing to be sent packing. If memory serves-- Wisconsin was in a similar position at the end of our game and they didn't push the issue-- just assumed victory formation and took the win. And even if I have my facts wrong (which no doubt our resident MikeG fact checker will be sure to point out) -- this is how coaches treat the game. To expect otherwise and call out a coach over it seems off base to me.

There are always some who try to use any argument they can to pour **** on a coach they don’t like ...... no matter how stupid that argument is.

I liked the part where someone was using Jimbo Fisher as the example of coaches who don't let up on the gas at the end of the game only to see Fisher take a knee about a minute later.
