GAME DAY vs South Carolina State

USF returns to Raymond James Stadium for the second time this season after tough loss at Georgia Tech that saw the Bulls defense hold Tech to 257 yards and scoreless in the second half. The Bulls sparked in the fourth quarter, producing 97 yards, a touchdown and driving to the one-yard line before a close call ruled Jordan Cronkrite did not break the plain on a would-be go-ahead touchdown and then fumbled the ball to Tech.

I KNOW YOU: Strong and SC State head coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough coached together under Lou Holtz at South Carolina from 1999-2002. Strong was the defensive coordinator while Pough was an assistant from 2000-02

EXTRA YARD FOR TEACHERS: USF will sport helmet decals in support of Extra Yard for Teachers. The CFP Foundation is spearheading the charge towards elevating the teaching profession using the high profile of college football through the implementation of four focus areas: resources, recognition, recruitment and professional development.

NATIONAL LEADERS IN TFL: After posting double-digit tackles for loss in its opening two games, including 13 at Georgia Tech, the USF defense ranks third nationally posting 12.0 TFL per game. In the off-season, the Bulls added defensive line coach Paul Spicer from the Buccanneers and moved Sean Cronin to coaching outside linebackers. The Bulls’ linebackers and defensive line have accounted for 21.5 of USF’s 24 tackles for loss on the year.

WILCOX OWNS TE RECORDS, BECOMES 14TH 1,000-YARD RECEIVER AT USF: Senior Mitchell Wilcox sprinted for a 54-yard reception, USF’s longest play of year, to get the Bulls to the one-yard line in the fourth quarter at Georgia Tech. The catch marked his 76th career, giving him the USF receptions record for tight ends and also made him the 14th career 1,000-yard receiver in program history.

I went from mad to almost apathetic, something has got to give or the season was over before it started.  If they parade out BB on the first series it will diminish my interest even further.
