GAME DAY vs Georgia Tech

USF will play its first ever game in Atlanta, just a six-hour drive up I-75 from Tampa, and just its second ever in the state of Georgia (L, 28-23, at Georgia Southern in 1998) when the Bulls play the second game of a home-and-home series with Georgia Tech. The Bulls will look to end a seven-game losing skid and defeat Tech for the second straight season after overcoming a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to the Yellow Jackets to win in Tampa, 49-38, last year.

MACON NOISE: Senior transfer linebacker Patrick Macon (Oklahoma St.) had a huge debut in his first action at the FBS level. Macon spent two years at OSU, after a season at Arizona Western CC, but didn’t see the field due to injuries. Macon led USF with 15 tackles, 4.0 TFL, one sack and a forced fumble in the 2019 opener vs. Wisconsin. He ranks tied for first nationally in TFL and sixth in tackles after the opening week.

VS THE POWER 6 & BIG TEN: USF has won five of its last six games vs. non-con Power 6 opponents, including wins vs. Georgia Tech and at Illinois last year, and has claimed victory in seven of its last nine such meetings. USF is 8-10 all-time vs. ACC teams, with wins over Tech, Clemson (2010), Florida State (2009), North Carolina (2006 & 2007), NC State (2008) and Syracuse (2015, 2016), and road wins at Florida State, North Carolina, NC State and Syracuse. The Bulls won, 45-20, in their last road trip to an ACC opponent at Syracuse in 2016.

RECORD WHEN: The Bulls are 52-49 (51.4%) in day games and 64-30 (68.0%) in hot weather games (80+ degrees), winning 13 of their last 15, including 49-38 vs. Georgia Tech in a game played in 85 degree weather last year.
