i agree - i would have done the samething if i were in coker's shoes.  don't take pity on a team if you're beating them by 20+ points in the 4th.  this is only my perspective though since i'm to watching spurrier do it many many many times at uf.

Nice Gary-- we did take a knee with 10 seconds left on the 5 yard line against FAMU.

Don't show that part -- no-- that would be incorrect.

I understand letting guys battle. Maybe it wasn't trying to run up the score. It sure felt that way. Perhaps because I had a bet on the line that was in danger of going the other way.

Good Christ. Now I'm being accused of doing a hatchet job on the Bulls.

Mike, I was trying to show EXAMPLES of things that COULD be taken the wrong way by an opposing fan. The point, which apparently you missed entirely, is that you can find this sort of thing in ANY game if you look hard enough.

And if you're trying to hold me to a standard of fairness, you didn't do a very good job of that either. I did include the kneeldown at the end of the UofL game. I also omitted the non-kneeldown at the end of the UCF game, even though it would have bolstered the point you think I was trying to make.

Anyone who wants the Fair and Balanced version of each game's playcalling script can go to gousfbulls.com and read the official boxscore.

Sorry if that seemed like an attack. I wanted to use that picture of Severino taking a knee (for a 4 yard loss no less).

Hey-- I'm just saying that we didn't try anything fancy at the end of some of these games. We ran some normal plays-- not bombs to the endzone- even with our 2nd or 3rd string guys in there trying to show their stuff. With a few minutes left in the game, you want to control the ball and run out the clock. If someone like Denson breaks free and gets 40 yards on a QB scamper--well that's just going to happen sometimes. If you loft a TD to the end zone, it's a little different.

Truth be told-- I was glad that it happened that way in retrospect. It gave Miami a automatic first down instead of 4th down in field goal range. Had we not gotten that penalty, I may have lost my bet.

Actually, I was impressed you had that picture. Sure did make the point. Anyway, no hard feelings.

I just think this whole subject is silly. I don't think anyone should get their noses out of joint about what a victorious opponent calls at the end of a decided game. Especially if the backups are in. Not only do they get few chances to shine, but garbage time is important to get your underclassmen (and future seniors/starters) involved.

I guess you didn't have money on USF in this game.

I was pissed to see that they threw the ball into the endzone too.  I was happy our DB interfered with them.  Basically a meaningless penalty at that point.  No NFL rules where you put the ball on the one.  They got 15 yards, which put them at about the 17 yard line.  So basically if they wanted to be even more classless, they'd have to throw again (which they didn't).  I bet they wanted too, with the spread not being covered.  Great job by that DB, I forget who it was.

F miami!
