The defender was Hester and they still had their first teamers out there. Right before that play we were looking at who they had outthere on the field.

So what did you think of our FG with 2-3 minutes left against L'ville?

You have to keep playing the game.  Mia wasn't running it up.  Those second stringers coming in late are fresh and are trying to make a name for themselves.  This is football.

And sorry, but when my team is getting pounded and I am faced with the prospects of walking thru the ghetto with two females, I'm gonna leave early.  If this game were anywhere else I would have stayed trust me.  After hearing everyone else's horror stories about post game, I'm glad we left.  I could just  imagine me walking out with two girls after the game in my USF jersey with 10000 animals behind us.

There was no field goal with 3 minutes left aganist L'ville. At around 5 miknutes left and deep in L'ville's territory CJL started running playing into their line. Even on 4th & 1 at their one CJL called a strainght dive play. After L'ville took over posession and Gachette picked off a pass and ran it inside L'ville's 10 yard line, CJL again called plays into the line until the clock ran out.

CJL had two opportunities to run up the score and did not.

Second team DL was playing but first team DB were in the game.  I noticed Maxey and Hesters names while using my binoculars during that drive.  The DBs did play soft which allowed for some of the yardage and they didn't blitz if I remember correctly.

I watched the replay (gotta love DVR) and they had their 2nd stringers out there.

Cuban is right.  Go look at the stats and the play-by-play tracker.  Who made the tackles on that drive- Kelly Jennings, McIntosh, Pata, Hester (was the defender on the TD), Beason, and Meriweather.

Make no mistake Classless Coker wanted to shut us out, and is completely upset he didn't beat us worse.

The difference was in that drive our play calling settled down those past few drives.  After we went down 17-0 we completely abandon the run (even though we were able to run on them), and started putting PJ into straight drop backs- not his forte.  If we just stuck to the game plan we could have made a game of it earlier.

Jim, I watched it to, and it validates what they have on the tracker.  Devin Hester was the guy covering Peyton.  Beason, and McIntosh are the ones that made the tackles on PJ's scramble...

The only area you can say miami had 2nd stringers in the game was DL, however Pata was in on a few plays during that drive.   Although Miami interchanges it's 2nd and 1st string DL's so you don't know who's a starter and who isn't.   For example Rhyan Anderson made a stop on our TD drive, he's not a starter, yet he played considerably during the 1st half.

Coker wanted to stop us, Miami's alum have a heavy betting contingent and he didn't want to win by less tha 21pts.

Beastie, I can tell you that Miami still had their first team defense in the game.  I was checking this.  I believe the TD was against Merriweather.  If not it was Hester with Merriweather on the field with him.  I don't think UM ever put in 2nd string defense.  They tried the 2nd string offense, but couldn't score on USF until that 4th down play to Gore.  He wasn't in the whole series, and then came in on 4th down.

Not very impressed with Miami's offense at all.  Their D is scary, but their O is not Top 10 quality.  This will hurt them against VT.  Vick should be able to throw and run against them much better than us.

It was against the 2nd string defense for the most part... the DBs might have started, but remember they were 2nd stringers filling in for injured starters...

Coker also put in his 2nd string offense for their last 2 drives.

Miami would be a NC contender if they got an offense, and our D isn't bait...its a legit unit.  With the lead the way it was for them, it was a unique opportunity to run some of their passing game against a good defense in a game.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
