The initial two dropped passes all but killed Barnett’s confidence. The passes were spot on - they should not be dropped at this level.

The fake injury on 4th and 1 in the first quarter is an omen to bad coaching. Wisconsin was about to inexplicably punt with the best RB in the nation needing one yard. One of the players realized they were a man short on the punt return team and Strong told him to go down with a cramp. Low and behold, Wiscy’s HC cleared his mind and realized what a bumbling decision he had just made and corrected his thought process.

Billy Atterbury got beat badly on the blindside hit where Barnett had the ball jarred loose while in his throwing motion. Not Barnett’s fault.

Down two TD’s due to poor execution. Simple as that.

Both of those drops were by players who took the slot position left by ford.  Makes you wonder if johnny makes those catches and the offense doesnt completely come unglued

There is no doubt the two drops killed all the momentum we had early and as far as the fake injury I still don't understand why anyone thought that would be a good idea. It was bad acting job too which was probably taught by strong. Atterbury shouldn't see the field again as he keeps making freshman mistakes as a senior.

At Barnett's age, you'd hope he'd be able to mentally overcome a couple of early dropped passes.  Agreed they were good throws, but drops happen.  Need to move on.

If his confidence gets run down over that, and I don't necessarily agree with the OP's opinion that that either happened or was the reason he played badly after that, then time to move to McCloud.

Barnett is what he is, and he's just not that great, nor is he what the Bulls need right now.

Saw that too. Once that fat ****** went down with the fake injury I knew they would go for it. Just so ******* stupid on the coaches part.

At least it was an isolated incident and they made up for it with all of their good decisions.

Do we know for a fact he faked it?  He could have been cramping and a coach or a teammate told him to get down.  Once when I was playing football I hurt my back on kickoff coverage, as i was hobbling toward the sidelines, my coaches yelled at me to get down.  I'm not saying this is what happened here, but do we know for sure?

It's possible I guess....but since so early in game I doubt it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
