I just rewatched the game with a clear head as well.

Blaming Barnett is not the solution. Had his receivers actually caught the ball that hit them in their hands we would've crossed midfield within the first offensive series.

The receivers are a wayyyyy bigger issue than Barnett is and its not even close.

the receivers are a huge issue.  we had so many that one of our receivers went to DB and we payed a walk on last night.

Did you miss the five to seven passes he forced including one that lead to an interception? Did you miss his incompletions on roll outs? Did you miss his over throws? Did you miss his lack of mobility? Yes, our WRs were terrible but it was equal with terrible QB play.

True...weird that McClouds receivers caught the ball.

Both sides had issues no doubt.  McDoom has to make that catch at start of game.

McCloud was so much smoother in the position. Yes, I get it he was not playing against the first team but his passes and release had much more zip. Further, his running ability, which a USF QB will need this year, was excellent.

I watched a replay of the game last night...yes, I actually did that and came away with a few thoughts:

Wisconsin is a well coached team...on defense they gave us nothing to their credit.  They are not only a top 20 team, they are probably a top 10 ten team.  I came away very impressed.

Blake forced a ton of throws which is troubling and turned into a couple of turnovers

In an offense where the play needs time to develop, both tackles have to step up

Because of both these aspects the staff might start to consider McCloud as the starter fairly soon

We have a lot of talent on defense and will improve as the offense begins to gel and they aren't on the field as long

After watching the film, I am going to just throw this one in the trash and move forward.  This was a perfect storm...Wisconsin is the real deal...combine that with a new offense it was a recipe for getting stomped...

We’re not going to allow you to talk us off the ledge with your reasonable assessment. We’re screwed, CCS has destroyed us!

There's no doubt that Barnett was pressing after we went down a few scores.

Agreed, I'm not upset we lost, it's how we lost...

Exactly. Don’t lose 50-0 at home on national TV.

Seems to be the case. He cant handle more than one read in a game...think its time for McCloud.

I wouldn’t even call it a read as he locked on to one receiver

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
