We were down 14-0 and needed to do something. Instead we had back to back dumbazz penalties and started 1st and 20 on our 10. Joke.

This probably doesn't need its own topic, and I'm not usually one to pile on, but who gives a crap everyone else is posting stuff.  I actually wasn't even pissed tonight (there should probably be another thread about apathy amongst the die hard fan base) until we were down 35-0 and our punter, God bless him, tried to fight for a first down on a fake (or busted?) punt.  Guy got absolutely decleated on the Wisconsin sideline for his efforts, and I didn't see one teammate of his go over to his defense on the sideline.  Now I don't expect the team to go over and start a fight as the hit was clean, but dammit I feel like at least one of of our guys should've been over there defending this guy.  I know that in the grand scheme, this play was inconsequential as far as stats or scoreboard was concerned, but man did it piss me off when I saw it, and I can't help but think that this is a reflection of the mentality of this team right now.

The point is - where is the toughness? The grit? The comradery?  The "even though my buddy is being a douche right now, you are not going to talk to him that way"?

It's funny you ask that question. All we heard leading up to this game is how close this team has grown and how much they've bonded. It sure didn't look that way. Further more, we heard how much the team had improved on both sides of the ball. Meh, I'm guessing that was either coach speak or a it show's the coaches are completely incompetent. Because, none of it appeared to be true. Sigh...

I think hit the nail on the head. In the past, we always would rise to the challenge of playing up to any team's level with a confidence that no matter who they were we could punch them in the mouth. From the head coach down we believed we could beat anyone. We carried a chip on our shoulders and followed through on it.

The way we come out I get the feeling Strong does not believe we should be on the same field as better teams and we just kind of go through the motions.

Something is missing in the intensity level.

And it wasn't really our punter, which certainly Wisconsin knew and loaded up for.  Yeah, we were done.

We have a punter?

How about the punt returner not catching the ball for a fair catch and letting ball roll to our 10 yard line.

Made me crazy all night long.  Well, at least until I left.

I've also thought that many times in the past, but I have no evidence to support it.  It's just that I don't hear the ambition.

The past you’ve got a ***** for was 3 coaches and a decade ago. Movies used to cost a nickel, too.

You neatly summed up the point I was trying to make, thank you.  I told my buddies when that happened, what do you think a team like Miami in its heyday or an Alabama would’ve done in that situation?  Again, not asking for a huge brawl, but a few teammates rushing, hell even walking up to his defense.
