Why exactly would we be 2-10? Pretty sure if we are playing P5 teams more regularly it would do more for our strength of schedule than our AAC slate.

There is nothing to play for unless you are using @Brad low motivation tool of winning a big game and then falling back to mediocrity.

So in 20 years no one that has played USF football has had anything to play for? I wonder how many of the wins against Notre Dame, FSU, Miami, WVU and Louisville et al any of our past players would trade for an AAC Championship.

What are talking about. Every year but maybe the first year we were always playing for a championship. Have you heard the player interviews this week? That’s all they are talking about...winning a conference championship. I never said the wins against the big schools were not important...I almost **** my paints with happiness when they occurred and will do so again on Friday. However, those are single moments. The championship means more because it says you are better than your colleagues who are also trying to win the same trophy. Thus, in my opinion, it’s impact intrinsically lasts longer.

I am pretty sure when we talk to players right now we focus more on the games against Texas and Florida than we do about whoever it is that is in the AAC this week that not one HS kid has ever heard of before. Who is it exactly save NEB that goes to bed dreaming at night about becoming an AAC champion? You get to play teams you care about and have the opportunity to be world beaters, that would be far more appealing to me than winning a championship that no one knows or cares about.

Hey kid, we're an independent.  You can come here or go to ND?  Whaddya say?

Except we aren't just competing against AAC teams we are competing against 129 other FBS teams and championships aren't just a quantitative thing they are a qualitative thing and winning the AAC makes you dead center in the middle of the pack of the 130 teams in FBS football, I am pretty sure we can make that same "accomplishment" on our own.

This may have been said already but this makes sense with Yukon being phased out. Don’t need to add one just play the best two. Looks like we will be playing UCF in back to back games.

I am talking about a conference championship. You can pump the breaks on having a chance for a natty as that won’t happen until the college football playoffs expand. Further, we need to win a conference championship first. All we have in the trophycase are some second rate bowl trophies.
