Question...can Notre Dame knock the BE out of the BCS?  Is the BE tie-in include Notre Dame?

No.

Anyway if our Bulls do get a chance to go, you gotta hope USC, TX & VPI or FSU go undefeated to throw the BCS into this big mess hopefully moving the D1 closer to a playoff.

The scary thing is Texas may be the only team out of those 4 that can actually finish undefeated.

You can't take anything away from USC, but with the way they've started the past 2 games off, if they go up against a team that can contain them on defense they're looking at an L.

Va Tech still has to go through Miami, BC and a possible Conference Championship

FSU still has to go through Clemson, Florida and a possible Conference Championship

I'm also for the playoff, but unfortunately there is too much money invoved in the bowl system for them to scrap it.

True, but USC doesn't play anybody like that.

As for the rest of the national title picture, I wouldn't be surprised if it comes down to "which one loss team" as opposed to "which unbeaten team" will play the University of Spoiled Children. There are too many good teams, especially in the SEC and Big Ten, for the current unbeatens to stay that way.

I think it does include Notre Dame.  Any of these bowl games  can take an 8-3 Notre Dame team over the Big East Champ.  They are somehow tied in if I recall correctly.  Did that change this year?  Remember a few years ago, ND lost to Oregon State in the Fiesta Bowl.  I think they were 8-3 that year.

No, it's not. They can take 8-3 Notre Dame, but it would not be at the expense of the Big East champ, it would be as an at-large team.

Notre Dame's arrangement with the BCS is independent of the Big East Conference's arrangement. In fact, Notre Dame could play against the BE champ. (Which could happen in the Orange Bowl if the ACC champ goes to the national title game.)

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
