You can't expect to get votes after a 20 point loss-- regardless of how it happened.

If we get on a nice roll, that will validate the UL win. We might start creeping up the polls.

The "roll" call:

Beating Pitt-- not much impact since they are struggling (1-4) and even if they beat Cinci (likely), they are not highly thought of at this point.

Beating WVU--- huge as they are seen as one of the major stumbling blocks to our BE finish and have a good record. They didn't look as bad against VaTech as the score suggests.

Beating Rutgers -- potentially dangerous team, not a big vote grabber based on previous seasons (and this one-- too bad they didn't finish off the Illini)

Beating Cuse-- Big name having tough season. They have talent and we bette be ready. The streak at this point should start to draw attention, especially if PSU/Miami continue to do well.

Beating Cinci --- not much impact, but good for the revenge of last season factor

Beating UConn-- we just won the Big East-- that has to count for something.

Beating a BCS Bowl opponent-- should give us top 15 at the minimum

Not saying this is going to happen by any means-- but if it were to unfold that way, we would be up there for certain. Strange thing-- UL would be ahead of us as long as they win out (which was projected at the beginning of the season).

A fan can dream.....

nice rundown MikeG. I really like this thread. Who would have thought that after losing to Penn State that they would go on the have a descent season, so far. I wonder if West Va has any shot at being ranked when we play them?
