If someone's QB or another key player gets hurt between now and the payout... will our bets be pulled or not paid out? I'm a little hesitant to bet anything after the Jalen Hurts transfer bets were negated due to Tate Martell transferring to Miami. Also, these don't close until December 7th, correct? So I can wait until the day of the conference championship game to make my bet without penalty?

Not paid out.  These are futures.  You're betting on who will win on what you know now.  These close before the start of the season.  I can't run futures ongoing up until game with changing odds, etc.

When the actual games happen, we'll have bets for those too.

When does the betting close? Kickoff of the first game? And let's say Wimbush gets hurt 2 days before the first game...does that wipe out everyone's bets or is that just the way it goes?

It closes out on 8/30 - the date the house considers the season to have started.  If you lay down a bet on Tulsa, and a hurricane (ironically enough) ends their football program you are screwed.

So if something happens that alters the odds before betting is closed, the bets stand where they are?

I think this is Cincinnati's year, if I were betting, I would lay some money down on the Bearcats.

Just being clear...I got jobbed last go ‘round. Don’t want another hurricane taking out Tulsa so my USF bet doesn’t count.
